If you are not aware, these are some of the OGX shampoos that Johnson & Johnson is being sued over. This is the second major lawsuit with J&J in the past 2 years, the first being with their Talc powder.
In these products, they are using a chemical called DMDM hydantoin, a known formaldehyde releaser.
The longer it sits on the shelf in the store or your shower, the more toxic it gets.
Along with it being a type 1 carcinogen and known allergen, in hair care products can cause scalp irritation and hair loss.
Companies use it a a cheap preservative and sometimes just as a filler with no real purpose for its excessive presence.
Products listed in the lawsuit include:

If you currently have any of these products you may want to consider reading THIS blog post about DMDM and then deciding for yourself if it is an ingredient that you are comfortable using in your home.
Should you choose to dispose of these products the best way to do so is to wear a mask (much of the concern with DMDM Hydantoin comes from inhalation), dump the contents in the trash can and then rinse and recycle the bottle.
I’ve been on the journey to finding safe products from brands that are truly making a difference for over a decade. You can trust that the ones I’ve chosen to highlight and support inside of my Product Finder will never contain DMDM or any other petrochemicals that I no longer use in my home.
I love you! Stay safe & always trust your gut.
